On Sunday, an abductee was rescued as troops of 14 Brigade Garrison stormed the hideout of a notorious kidnapping syndicate. One of the suspected kidnappers, Chidiebere Sunday, was apprehended while 2 others escaped.
One suspect, in a bid to evade arrest through the roof, fell, hit his head on the floor and died. Item recovered from them include; 2 AK-47 rifles, 9 AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with 124 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, 1 Pistol, 2 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 2 machetes and N5.5m.
Other items recovered include a Toyota RAV4 jeep with registration number MUS 428 RZ, military camouflage jungle hat, 6 mobile telephone handsets, an iPad, Diamond Bank Debit Card, bunch of different keys, 2 empty bags and a wrap of marijuana.
