A fight over right of way makes soldiers beat woman up .

Joy Agboghide, a mother-of-six, and an army officer fought at the entrance gate of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), yesterday, as a result of the traffic congestion caused by indiscriminate parking of vehicles in the area.

Agboghide was asked to allow vehicles coming from the other axis pass and after allowing about 5 vehicles pass, she insisted on passing, thereby obstructing traffic. The army officer, who had just left the BEDC office, accosted and asked her to reverse her vehicle.

She declined, prompting the officer to hit her windscreen and called two more army officers to beat her up. But as he made to leave, Agboghide pulled him and told him to pay for the damage done to her car. As he jumped inside his vehicle and tried to drive off, she hit his windscreen.

This made him come down and damage her windscreen and the rear screen. He also whipped her while his wife tear gassed her. She was later rushed to the Central Hospital in Benin where she is receiving treatment…. Cc: Tribune, Punchng
