Anambra State kicks off the exportation of Ugu and Bitter leaves to the UK

On the 21st of January, 2016 the Anambra State Ministry of Agriculture successfully assisted some rural farmers to export the first batch of their pumpkin leaves (Ugu) and bitter leaves (Onugbu) to the UK. This was after the Federal Quarantine Agency paid several visits to the state to inspect and certify the various farms fit for the purpose.

The first set of participating farmers have also been trained to produce vegetables of high quality without applying fertilizers or any other chemicals, in order to ensure that the vegetables are classified as 100% organic. Plans are now underway to exponentially increase production and exportation to position Anambra as a top vegetable exporting state….. ds is soooo wrong. Argh! ….
