Tony Anenih, 83, a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the PDP, has written a letter to the EFCC that the N260m he is being accused of collecting, was a refund of the N440m he disbursed, on the
instruction of GEJ, ahead of the 2015 polls.

Anenih claimed that he merely, on request, gave GEJ his bank account details into which the refund should be made, and that he was not in the position to ask GEJ how he was going to source money for the refund or through which office it would be made.

Anenih explained that the N263m he gave to Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, Chief Olu Falae and Alhaji Rashidi Ladoja, was N3m in excess of the N260m paid him, while he had outstanding balance of N180m to collect from GEJ. He made it clear in the letter to the EFCC that he was not a beneficiary of the money and that he was only acting on the instruction of GEJ to disburse it.

He also indicated that, on the instruction of GEJ, the BoT of the PDP then, under his chair, embarked on a nationwide reconciliation tour and that the money he spent on hiring private jet during the tour, among other expenses, was also not refunded to him.

Washing his hands off, Anenih said he knew nothing about Dasukigate and that he made personal sacrifices to ensure that GEJ won by accepting to use his personal money to pick some campaign bills, lamenting that he could not recover all the money he expended at the end of the day….. he wishes Buhari cld b kind enuf to pay him d N180m balance…..
