Lassa fever hits Lagos, just as 31 people are quarantined in Ondo after 2 deaths

One case of Lassa fever, involving a 25-year-old male student from the Ahmadu Bello University, has been confirmed in Lagos. It was

diagnosed at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba.

He was admitted first at a private hospital in Ojokoro before being transferred to LUTH. Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, says he is responding to treatment. 31 people have also been quarantined in Ondo State after two people died from the virus.
