Yesterday Police Corporal Sunday David a.k.a Iku ( death ) Sunday, was shot dead as he tried to flee after allegedly killing two persons in Agege, Lagos. David who was attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Sqaud (SARS), was
shot in the forehead and neck.
David, who is survived by 3 children, allegedly opened fire on two people on a football pitch. His assailants caught up with him in traffic and shot him dead with his blood splattered on the seats of his newly bought car.
When SARS operatives came to pickup his remains, it was discovered that David had a pistol in his pocket, an AK47 rifle in his car’s boot, a gold necklace and cash, but they were not taken by his killers.
According to a senior police officer, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase has directed that policemen should never take guns home, so investigations would show how Sunday came about the guns.
