Yesterday, the New York Jets released Ikemefuna after a locker room altercation that left Geno Smith with a broken jaw. The punch flew after a disagreement about $600 that Ikemefuna laid out to get Smith to a charity event in Texas last month. Smith had to
cancel after the death of someone close to him and Enemkpali asked for reimbursement.
Smith reportedly agreed to pay, although it would seem he didn’t pay quickly enough to satisfy Enemkpali and a punch was delivered to Smith’s face. Ikemefuna was signed by New York Jets with the knowledge that he had a history of violence. When he was 19, he punched a police officer during a bar fight.
He was later charged with simple battery, placed on 13 months’ probation, and ordered to complete 32 hours of community service and an anger-management course. Ikemefuna has 2 sisters, Nneka and Chinelo, and one brother, Osi….. he is now considering relocating to Nigeria to become either a boxer, a bouncer at Quilox or Olamide’s bodyguard…..
