On the orders of Air Vice Marshall Adesola Amosu, the creeks of Calabar were bombed yesterday. He ordered the deployment of the M17 gunship helicopter to survey and bomb all suspected hideouts of militants and
sea robbers along the creeks.

Ohwo, an Air Commodore, said the raids were carried out following frequent attacks on vessels, police stations, seafarers including market women by gunmen suspected to be pirates and militants on the Calabar waterways. Militants attacked a police armory in Calabar this week killing at least two people and carting away a large cache of weapons.

The air attack lasted over one hour. Ohwo said the exercise will be continuous. He said they were able to bomb suspected targets in the entire creeks of Calabar waterways up to Bakassi and environs and that the raid would extend to creeks in Akwa Ibom State….. and won’t stop till all d militants unanimously receive d sense God has been offering them since 1932BC……
