Bimbo Fayose, the immediate younger of Ekiti state governor, has been fined €6,000 after a health inspection uncovered evidence of significant rat infestation at his business premises. Bimbo who runs a wholesale distribution of African foods

pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court to 7 counts of breaking food hygiene regulations after rat-droppings were found in food storage areas.

He was prosecuted by the Health Service Executive (HSE) after senior environmental health officer, Chris Counihan, carried out an inspection at his warehouse. Solicitor, Adrian Lennon, for the HSE, told the court that his business exposed the public at large to risk.

Bimbo had a prior conviction for food hygiene offenses which resulted in a €30,000 fine later reduced on appeal to €1,000 which has not yet been paid. The judge described the warehouse pictures he saw as awful and the worst he has seen……. to which Bimbo responded by saying, “My lord, dt means u haven’t being to Ekiti State b4″…..
