Student sentenced to death by hanging for stealing phones in 2013 gets pardoned. Moses Akatugba was only 15 years old when he was arrested in 2005 and his trials was delayed till 2013. Moses, in the company of his gang, now
at large, robbed one Mrs. Akpor Mazino of the sum of N114k, 3 handsets and recharge cards valued at over N100k.

In November 2013, a High Court in Effurun, Delta State, sentenced him to death by hanging. On hearing about the judgement, Amnesty International launched a massive campaign for amnesty for him. And yesterday, the Delta State governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan granted him total pardon….. Moses later said his crime wasn’t stealing, his crime was nt stealing enough. He has promised neva to commit dsame crime again……..
