On the 25th of April, 2015, Zara Mohammed, a 27-year-old full-time house wife and a nursing mother, had left her home at Dolphin Estate, dressed georgeously to attend her friend’s baby naming ceremony at Ijeh barracks.mLittle did she
know that she would be mistaken for a millionaire’s wife and kidnapped on her way back home by a woman who offered her a ride at the entrance to her Estate.
The following day, her husband received a call from the kidnappers demanding a ransom of N10m to be brought to Allen bus stop, Ikeja, Lagos. On April 27, 2015, they called again and he told them he won’t be able to raise that amount because he is a security man in Dolphin Estate with a monthly salary of N20k. Immediately, the phone went dead. Few days later, he was shocked to see her wife in their house.
Sharing her experience, the wife said: “They called him with my phone and requested for N10m ransom. A week later, I was dumped in a farm after they realized that my husband, a mere security man, could not pay the amount they demanded.”…… I don’t want to experience such thing again. I av even begged my husband to pls stop taking good care of me so dt I won’t look like rich ppl again. All men shld do d same…..
