They say they want to pay back their parents who moved to the U.S. to give them a better life. As well as the Ivy League colleges, each of them has also been accepted to 6 other top schools. They are the offsprings of immigrant parents who
moved to America from Bulgaria, Somalia or Nigeria. And all 4 – Munira Khalif, Stefan Stoykov, Victor Agbafe, and Harold Ekeh say they have their parents’ hard work to thank.
Munira, form Somalia, was one of 9 youngsters in the world to receive the UN Special Envoy for Global Education’s Youth Courage Award for her education activism, which she started when she was just 13. Harold said his parents once told him that they came over to the USA from Nigeria for the 24-hour electricity.
Victor, is part of North Carolina’s Youth and Government program, where he was chosen as Speaker of the House. The 4 of them have one more thing in common: they don’t know which school they’re going to pick yet….. but Harold n Victor say their preferred school is in Nigeria n they r now considering relocating briefly for their university education…….
