House of Representatives committee on Niger Delta yesterday queried the ministry for alleged purchase of recharge cards worth over N8m as reflected in the breakdown of its 2014 budget. They demanded
explanation from both the minister, Dr Steven Oruh, and the permanent secretary, Ms. Fatima Bello, on how N8m could be used for recharge card.

Chairman of the committee frowned at such careless spending. While responding, the Minister and his Permanent Secretary couldn’t give a satisfactory account of the money. The performance of the ministry’s N51.693b budget was also marred by shortfalls…… u r only allowed 2 spend ds much if u’r in d habit of callin d gods everyday to tell them some cool stories…..
