The Nigerian man who fell to his death in Canary Wharf, has been identified as a 32-year-old mental health patient, Osazuwa Otote.
He died on the underground platform of the London Tube station after climbing up a glass balustrade on Monday afternoon.
Otote, originally from Benin, Edo State, broke free from his carer and jumped, landing backwards with his head towards the Tube doors, Poplar Coroner’s Court heard today.
Paramedics tried to revive him, but he was later declared dead from head and throat injuries. The deceased had been living in the Cygnet Health Care high dependency mental health unit in Lewisham, south London.
