The police Sergeant, Wilson Ufere, who killed 16-year-old Obinna Iwuoha on Thursday on the Anara-Umuahia expressway, Imo State, has been dismissed from the Force.

Ufere, while on duty with two other officers, opened fire directly at a group of youths who were on a church procession. Obinna, who was an SS1 student, died instantly, while three others, Tochukwu Uzoukwu, 25, Chukwuebuka Donatus, 24, and Chigozie Iwuala, 28, were severely injured leading to their being in a coma for days.

The spokesperson for the police in the state, Andrew Enwerem, said that the trigger-happy policeman had been found culpable and immediately dismissed from the force.

Enwerem said that after the orderly room trial of Ufere and his colleagues who took part in the dastardly act, it was discovered that he was guilty and subsequently dismissed from the police force.

The Police spokesperson stated that the police would charge Ufere to court for murder. He averred that the two other police officers who were with Ufere during the shooting, were not found guilty of murder but would be punished internally accordingly. Crdt: Punchng
